Every page needs an h1 that summarizes the main idea of each page.
Seperate content into sections using headings in sequential order. H2 should come after h1.
People don't usually come to websites for leisue reading. they are looking for something specific. Make that as easy as possible.
Tips for good web content
- People should be able to scan the headings on a page to get the gist of the story without reading any of the paragraphs.
- Don't skip a heading for the look. Headings need to be sequential. Start with h1, then h2, then h3, and so on.
- Use lists instead of paragrpahs when it makes snee to do so. Lists are easier to read.
- Keep paragraphs short and to-the-point. Provide links to relevant content when necessary.
- Each page needs to end with a link to the next page you want your users to visit. This si called a call-to-action, or a CTA for short.
- Links should be attached to anchor text that describes the content of the link. Avoid phrases like "click here" or "link" when writing for the web.
End each page with a call-to-action. A CTA is a sentence that tells the user what to do next and provides a link to the next page.
